Legislation safeguards a dignified life for older adults and protection from psychological and health-related harm

After many years spent working and building families and society, older adults reach a stage when they need care, attention, and emotional and health support more than ever. As the number of older people grows, caring for them is no longer solely a family responsibility; it has become a societal issue requiring an integrated system that ensures a dignified life and protects their rights.

In this context, the law on the care and rights of older persons establishes a legal framework to protect older adults, provide health and social services, and address neglect and abuse.
